Should You Wash Your Hair Everyday Or Every Other Day?

When it comes to taking care of our hair, we want to do the very best we can to help it to continue growing long and strong. Washing hair too often is a question that comes up often in terms of hair care. You will come across conflicting information but for the most part, you may want to consider how often you wash your hair.

Our scalps have a natural oil that it secretes and washing hair on a daily basis can strip our scalps of this oil. This can lead to dry scalp which in turn can lead to itching and flaking. Not only that, but you may also cause your hair to dry out more than normal.

One way to test out whether or not you can get away with washing your hair every other day is by not washing your hair for one day and seeing if you suffer from itchy scalp. If you are fine after one day without washing, then go for two days.

If you are fine after two days, you are more than likely capable of washing your hair every other day or every two days. This means you can prevent major scalp dryness and hair dryness. When you do wash your hair try to use a good quality shampoo to help prevent any further dryness.

It is a good idea to invest in a good conditioner as well. When you do wash your hair, you want to keep as much moisture as possible in your hair and scalp. The cheaper brands tend to strip the hair more so than higher priced brands.
