Well here are some suggestions:
- Soft shades of pastel or yellow dresses can be played up or down, depending on the type of look you want to achieve. You can use soft shades of pastel and yellow to compliment your dress or use darker orange and burnt gold for a more seductive and glamorous look.
- If your dress color is darker, then try lighter colors (like natural or neutral) on your eyes or match it with the same intensity as the dress to give it a more 'gothic' look.
- If you have a bronze or brown velvet dress then match it with a bronze theme. The autumn shades for your eyes will go really well here.
- You can bold or soft if you are wearing a natural or beige dress. Soft pinks, golds and purple will do really well here.
- If you decide to go for a pink dress then use an eye color the compliment and is totally the opposite. If your dress is light pink, then use shades of dark pink, and vice versa.
- If you decide to wear a green or teal color dress, then it's best to complement it with matching shades of green. Olive will go really well here.
- If you are going for the white dress then use dark pinks, light pinks, mauve or soft browns to compliment the look. Sometimes using lighter makeup is better if you want to convey a more innocent look.
- For black dresses you want soft purples, pinks, browns and gold color to compliment it. You can also wear dark green eyeshadow with a black dress for a stunning effect.
- If your dress is red then either go for really natural and light colors or dark and dramatic effect by using charcoal greys, smokey pinks etc.
Basically you have a wide variety of colors you can use so choose it carefully before your big prom night. Also make sure to test run these colors so you are fully prepared.
