Dark Circles Under the Eyes - How to Get Rid of Them?

Dark circles under the eyes - most of us find ourselves looking into the mirror and being stared back with racoon eyes one time or another. In fact dark circles can actually make you look ten years older. They make you look tired, sick, and older, so how do you get rid of them?

Dark under eye circles under the eyes can be concealed nicely with cosmetics. The right make up and hiding these dark circles isn't that difficult. If you prefer something more permanent you might consider surgery.

Concealer has long been a standby for dark under eye circles. That's because it's effective and comes in so many different shades that finding the right one isn't difficult. Do remember however that it should be one shade lighter than your skin color if your circles are bluish black in color. If there is puffiness then go one shade darker. For most dark eye circles a concealer that has a yellow base is the best. The key is to take your most visible undertone in those dark eye lines and circles and then choose a concealer that compliments that.

Use a light touch when you are working the concealer. Keep the amount minimal because too much will actually draw more attention to the area you are trying to conceal. Never put mascara on your lower lashes if you are trying to cover up dark circles under the eyes.

If you suffer from chronic dark lines under the eyes you might consider a more permanent solution. Cosmetic surgery is an option you may want to consider. There are different surgery techniques that you can choose from.

Laser stimulates collagen production at a deep level which rejuvenates surface skin and results in the elimination of the dark circles under the eyes. Blepheroplasty is another procedure where the skin under the eyes is removed and then what's left is drawn tight removing any bag and reducing the dark circles. This is an expensive procedure that does have some side effects.

Less invasive are some home remedies that many have found beneficial. A look on line can result in different recipes you can try. If one doesn't work, don't give up as there are many.

Eye cream is also a popular option. Many dermatologists recommend this option for dark circles under the eyes. Since there has been a great deal of research conducted not only are there creams that work they are safe and can also help prevent the return of the under eye dark lines. An example is Athena 7 Minute Lift and Restoreyes. Athena cream works especially well for under eye bags and lines as well as for crow's feet. For darkness under the eyes, Restoreyes is effective as well.

So there you have it.

While no one solution is right for everyone, you do have plenty of options so that you can find the one that is right for you. Just because you have dark circles under the eyes doesn't mean you have to live with them. After all you don't want to look older than your age do you?
